April 27, 1994 “Science in American Life” opens at the National Museum of American History. The exhibition demonstrates how science has changed the way Americans have lived over the past 125 years. It is the first major effort by the museum to examine science in a social and cultural context. The exhibition also includes an interactive education center in the “Hands On Science Center.” The exhibition was underwritten by a grant from the American Chemical Society.
