“Seasons: Arts of Japan”—Freer Gallery of Art, through March 4, 2012
The museum presents “Seasons,” a series of rotating exhibitions that underscores the importance of the seasons in Chinese and Japanese art and culture. This exhibit shows how the seasons permeate Japanese poetry, art and customs—from springtime cherry blossoms to autumnal scarlet maples.
